Nestled in the heart of St. Louis, The Royale Food & Spirits is a gem that effortlessly combines a cozy atmosphere with a creative, mouthwatering menu. Customers rave about standout dishes like the brisket tacos and fried Brussels sprouts, both praised for their perfect blend of flavors. The Bacon Apple Flatbread, topped with goat cheese and a balsamic glaze, is another highlight that showcases the restaurant's knack for shareable plates. The ambiance is equally commendable, especially the inviting garden patio, where patrons can savor their meals while enjoying vinyl music and a picturesque setting. The attentive staff, including standout bartender Heather, enhances the experience with excellent drink recommendations like the Stinky River Des Peres martini. With a small yet ambitious menu, even the lighter options like the vibrant Berry Beet Salad and delectable Vegan Crabby Cakes garner significant attention. The Royale Food & Spirits invites diners to enjoy creatively crafted dishes in a warm, friendly environment, making it a perfect spot for both casual nights out and special occasions. It’s no wonder guests leave feeling like they’ve discovered a new favorite eatery in the city.

Our server recommended the Stinky River Des Peres , blue cheese washed vodka martini. Holy cow!!!! Delicious!!! Brisket tacos were divine. Ambiance in the garden is magical. Will return.

Best spot in town. Get the fish tacos and enjoy vinyls spinning while you pick grapes and sip drinks on the patio.

Can't believe I've never heard of The Royale! Their fried brussels sprouts with tempeh and General Tso sauce were absolutely delicious—perfectly balanced flavors. The place has a charming vibe, and the outdoor fire pit is a cozy spot to relax before dinner.

We arrived in town really late on a Saturday night and we were really excited to try the food here. We had missed on the website were it says they only serve food until 10pm, which it totally says on there, we just missed it. Heather was so welcoming that we decided to stay for a drink. She suggested the Goat Chips with Curry Dipping Sauce as a snack option available at that time of night. She also gave us a number of other recommendations in the area where we may be able to grab some food that late. She was so fantastic at mixing drinks and had such a an awesome personality, that we ended up just staying there and having several drinks and a few baskets of Chips with the fancy Curry Sauce. That sauce is magic. The next day we decided that it was such a great time the night before and the menu was so intriguing that we would go for lunch. Heather was there again showing her amazing skills at drink mixing. We ordered the Beet Reuben, Jack Fruit Tacos, and Spinach Mushroom Pakoras, along with many more drinks. Everything was amazing. The Pakoras are on the Specials menu and I really hope they move them to the regular menu as they were absolutely delightful. I giggled with joy with every bite. So we clearly had to order more of those too. The atmosphere was fun, inviting, and creatively stimulating. With the great music playing, awesome artwork on the walls by Dana Smith, delicious food and drinks, and overall awesomeness of the place, I am happy to say we have a new favorite place in St. Louis. We have also named Heather our favorite Bartender in St. Louis!

Small neighborhood bar with glass brick windows that provide great light and a cozy feel. Warm wood interior, good drink selection, very pleasant wait staff, and a small yet ambitious menu. The back patio is great in the Spring time! I tried the jackfruit tacos -- flavorful and spicy without being too hot. And the breaded catfish taco is tops. Nice place!

We went to a happy hour for a friend who is leaving our workplace in a few days. The happy hour lasted for over three. The food we ordered was very good. MJ had brisket. I had a griddle burger. We were served by the owner, who was very nice. We ate outside. The weather was nice and music was playing. We will be going again.

So very glad this gem was suggested to us by a local! And we were very lucky to hit a quieter time in the afternoon following a lovey Botanical Garden visit. Such a unique twist of offerings and most, if not vegetarian already, could be adjusted to vegan and GF choices. The food was excellent, the mocktails delicious! A gorgeous outdoor patio with a most artistic fire pit to enjoy the S’mores dessert. I will be back as I can’t wait to try another menu choice!

Don’t sleep on this local gem. The drinks are thoughtful and on point. The vibes are outstanding and welcoming to all. The staff are courteous and friendly. They also have an excellent outdoor section. Come spend an hour or day relaxing and enjoying life. But the way, there food is yummy.
